2224 Ainslie’s extra-wide corner lot offered the chance to design a home showcasing two wide, beautiful façades, something rendered impossible by Chicago’s typical narrow lots. This inspiration led to an exterior that fits in with the neighborhood while offering a contemporary take on the traditional farmhouse.

Behind the busy avenues of Lincoln Square lie quiet, leafy streets where close-knit residents gather for events year round. Ainslie is located on one of these tree-lined streets, just blocks away from one of Chicago’s most inventive new restaurants, Elizabeth and a 7 minute walk to the Square’s fountain. The home is literally within blocks of all the shops and restaurants that make this neighborhood feel like a small town in the middle of a big city.  The house is also convenient to several forms of public transportation and is walking distance to two Brown Line stations as well as the Ravenswood Metra station.

The kitchen at Ainslie has one of the most unique, yet useful layouts on the market today.  The development team successfully received a zoning change to allow for a walk out front patio. The family room contains a wood burning fireplace and a large mudroom is ideally located off the rear entrance and out of sight of the main public spaces. The second level provides for 4 full bedrooms and 3 full baths, with an additional bedroom in the basement.
